Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR INVITATION FOR BID. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic is seeking eligible Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses capable of performing design-bid-build (DBB) construction services for project ST15-1017, Building 7CC, Boiler #1 Overhaul located in Coddington Cove at Naval Station Newport in Newport, RI. The overhaul shall repair the failed and deficient components. The existing boiler is a water tube boiler that was manufactured in 1959 by the Riley Stoker Corporation of Worcester, MA. It was designed with a maximum continuous capacity of 75,000 lbs/hr. The boiler operating pressure and temperature are 165 psig at 450 degrees F. The boiler uses both natural gas and No. 4 fuel oil. The boiler is of tube and tile construction. The intended overhaul will generally consist of the re-tubing of the unit (boiler headers and tubes), as well as replacement and repair of refractory and other materials to achieve a near-new boiler condition. The overhaul repairs shall include removal and replacement of the boiler tubes, refractory, baffles, tubular air preheater, handholes, and boiler skin including ID fan housing. The handhole as well as manway seating surfaces shall also be machined. All work shall be in accordance with ASME and National Board Inspection Codes and provide adequate, efficient and safe thermal production and support equipment for space heating needs for berthing and office spaces, training facilities, laboratories and recreational facilities.
