This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposal or quote and does no obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses. Responses to this notice shall include: 1.Company Name 2.Address 3.Point of Contact 4.Phone, Fax, and Email 5.DUNS number 6.Cage Code 7.Type of business, e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a), HUB Zone, Women Owned Small Business, SDB 8.Must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform the work described below: This RFI uses a Brand Name or Equal Description of the product required. This permits prospective contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name Centrifuge The Sahota lab, as part of a merit award, in Research Service/Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital is requesting the procurement of a Cell Culture Centrifuge. This centrifuge will be used to support the Sahota research program in a multitude of assays of controlled spins for sample preps at all stages of research. Item(s) Needed: Centrifuge (Item must be comparable to Beckman Coulter Centrifuge Model Name Allegra # X15R) QTY: 1 Product Specifications: "Timer to feature a hold or pulse timer of up to 99 hours and 59 minutes, ten user defined programs with 10 acceleration and 11 deceleration profiles. "Digital display of speed in X g and rpm. Min Speed 8,000 RPM - Max. Speed 10,200 RPM; Min RFC: 5,000 - Max. RCF: 11,400Xg. "The centrifuge must offer/include the following configurations to meet current sample processing needs of the lab and be corrosion and wear resistant material oSelf-balancing: Rotor with auto correct for imbalance in opposing loads up to 50g without shut down. (Must be comparable to the Beckman Coulter Fixed Angle Rotor, Model FX6100) oThe centrifuge capacity Min of 48 (QTY), 56 ml tubes - Max of 56 (QTY), 15 ml conical tubes OR 28 (QTY), 50ml tubes. oThe centrifuge must be capable of running up to 18 X 2.0 and 0.5 ml micro tubes in a single rotor at 17,100xg oThe centrifuge must be able to minimize contamination from broken or leaking tubes with Bio Certified Aero solve canisters and tube racks with the Bio Safe Aero solve Canister Packages, which also include a set of four Aero solve canisters, four 15mL conical tube racks, and four 50mL conical tube racks. The Aero solve packages hold up to twenty-four 15mL conical tubes or sixteen 50mL conical tubes. oSwinging Bucket Rotors features stainless steel yoke construction with free swinging aluminum buckets must be included. "The centrifuge must not require bolting to laboratory benching. "The centrifuge must not be loud when running (<60dbA) "100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 120W. The centrifuge must plug directly into the wall outlet. "Additional required items that must be adaptable to centrifuge: oAdapter for Conical Bottom tubes, 15 ml capacity, 100 mm tube length, 17 mm diameter. oAdapter for Round Bottom tubes, 50 ml capacity, 120 mm length, 28.5-29mm diameter. Training and Support: "No training is necessary. Installation/ Protection and Acceptance: The installation will be completed at a prearranged date that is determined by the Research Office. Installation will in no way block or hinder medical procedures going on at the VA. The Sahota lab will ensure the centrifuge is fully functioning and not damaged at completion of the installation and that the instrument meets the requirements listed.
