The special notice attachments will be posted to FedBizOpps at the same time the special notice is posted. FedBizOpps may be accessed at http://www.fbo.gov. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued by the Department of the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division, on behalf of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) 2.0 Above Water Sensors Directorate. The Government is conducting market research related to AC Motors to be used in the scheduled periodic overhaul of radar systems in use on U.S. Navy ships. This RFI notice will assist NSWC Crane in the determining marketplace availability of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and/or modified COTS Alternating Current (AC) motors used in harsh shipboard environments. This notice is for market research purposes only and does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal. This notice shall not be construed as a contract, a promise to contract, or as a commitment of any kind by the Government. The Government is NOT seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. This RFI is issued solely for conducting market research in accordance with FAR Part 10 and gathering information for planning purposes. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies, entities, or individuals that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested parties in response to this RFI announcement will NOT be reimbursed. All information marked as proprietary information will be safeguarded to prevent disclosures to non-Government personnel and entities. NSWC Crane is seeking companies with capability to: Provide efficient COTS and/or modified COTS AC Motors which are within the form, fit, and function parameters defined in the accompanying AC Motor Outline Drawing and Performance Characteristics (Attachment 1). Companies responding to this RFI Notice shall review the AC Motor Outline Drawing and Performance Characteristics and complete the "Contractor Response" column for each capability requirement identified in the Attachment 2, AC Motor RFI Response Form. Where additional information is requested on the response form, companies will provide that information, identified by the corresponding Item Number, in a single, separate White Paper not to exceed 4 pages. White papers submitted in conjunction with the Attachment 2 Response Form shall be in electronic format. The font size shall not be smaller than 12 pt. font. The top, bottom, left and right margins shall not be less than 3/4 inches. A cover page for the white paper shall be included. The cover page shall include the company name, address, CAGE Code, and points of contract (names, email, and telephone numbers) at a minimum. The cover page is not considered in the total page count. This is NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS and no contract will be awarded from this RFI. SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES: NSWC Crane will accept only electronic unclassified submission of responses. The completed Attachment 2 RFI Response Form and Whitepaper responses are due 14 calendar days from the date of this posting to Robert Fizer at the robert.fizer@navy.mil.
