Each Sternvent dust collector would require extensive modification to retrofit newer style motors to original structures. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Dust collector Motor removal, retrofit, and install. 1.0 Description 1.1 AFTC/PZIOA, Edwards AFB, CA is seeking information on interested contractors for a project to install and retrofit 1ea 15 HP 230V/460 volt 3phz motor and 1 ea. 30 HP 230v/460 volt 3phz motor to 2ea Sternvent cyclone type dust collectors with associated electrical work and demo/disposal of existing structures. Each Sternvent dust collector would require extensive modification to retrofit newer style motors to original structures. 1.2 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Air Force is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2.0 Background The current Sternvent cyclone type dust collection system in the wood-working hobby shop is non-operational and the electric motors require replacement. Due to the age of the equipment original style motors are no longer available. Extensive modification would be required to ensure correct fitment of newer style motors to the older structures. 2.1 Delivery Period: 120 Days ARO 2.2 Security Requirements: Workers must be able to pass a background check to obtain access to Edwards AFB, CA. 3.0 Requested Information 3.1 AFTC/PZIOA asks for any vendor whom is interested and can provide the following to respond to this RFI. The contractor shall provide all design, supervision, labor, and materials necessary to provide, deliver, and install 2 ea. electric motors into 2 ea. Sternvent cyclone type dust collection systems. This installation will require the use personnel-lift style equipment. 1ea 15 HP 230V/460 volt 3phz motor 1ea 30 HP 230V/460 volt 3phz motor Extensive modification required to ensure installation of both motors are to exact manufactures specifications. The contractor shall comply with all Air Force Base Safety Standards and all OSHA Standards. The Government does not guarantee that questions received after 11 Aug 2016 will be answered. 7.0 Summary THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can furnish and install electric motors in accordance with the information provided in section three of this RFI. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Air Force has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought.
