Description

The Government intends to award a sole-source contract to Instron for the item/service specified below provided by the technical points of contact and included in the contract file, in support of the U.S Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898. This requirement is to acquire one (1) Instron Model 5982, Materials Testing System, Capacity 100Kn, and MultiStation Test Components. The AMRDEC requires this system, which will replace a thirty-year-old, obsolete, and malfunctioning 1125 Instron test machine within the 7155 Mechanics Laboratory. Authority cited: FAR 6.302-1(c) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Required lead time - 30 Days after award of contract.
