- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, 24 Frank Lloyd Wright Drive, Lobby M, Suite 2200, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, intends to solicit offers for one (1) liquid waste disposal system along with all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all necessary resources to install said system. This system is used to collect volumes of liquid waste from laparoscopic urology procedures. Hardware shall be capable of collecting and disposing of waste in a safe and sanitary manner. Work shall performed in the Surgery Department and Endoscopy Department, residing in Building 1 of the Northern Indiana Healthcare System (NIHCS) located at 2121 Lake Avenue Fort Wayne, IN. Contractors that can provide a system, installation and training that meets the requirements below are requested to send their 1. Company Name, 2. DUNS number, 3. business size under NAICS 339112, and 4. If the item(s) are available on a FSS contract or not and the FSS contract number if it is available on contract, 5. Surgical Waste Management BACKGROUND The contractor shall provide one (1) liquid waste disposal system along with all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all necessary resources to install said system. This system is used to collect volumes of liquid waste from laparoscopic urology procedures. Hardware shall be capable of collecting and disposing of waste in a safe and sanitary manner. Work shall performed in the Surgery Department and Endoscopy Department, residing in Building 1 of the Northern Indiana Healthcare System (NIHCS) located at 2121 Lake Avenue Fort Wayne, IN. SERVICES REQUIRED SCOPE The scope of this project is to provide a hardware solution that shall: "Ensure the safety of users from biohazards such that: oThere are no open access points to the canister during regular usage. oThe system seals to eliminate the possibility of cross-contamination between patients. "Be equipped to handle the appropriate volume of liquid waste such that: oThe hardware uses 2 canisters; one of 4L capacity and one of 20L capacity. oThe canisters are transparent with graduated volume measurements. oThe hardware issues an audible alert signaling that canister waste volume is at capacity. "Allow for varying suction levels such that: oThe suction level of each canister may be adjusted independently. oSuction options may range from 50 to 480 mm-Hg. "Include a smoke evacuator such that: oThe system utilizes an ultra-low particulate air (ULPA) filter. o ¼", 3/8", and 7/8" tubing are accepted. "Include a waste docking station such that: oThe system utilizes an existing water connection of 50-120 PSI. oThe system is used in a hands-free manner during docking and emptying. "Be easily cleaned using multiple wash cycle options of varying lengths. "Include a powered IV pole for up to four 3000cc bags.
