9--NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: SENSOR SYSTEMS, LLC. NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), intends to award a single source contract to Sensor Systems, LLC, St Petersburg, FL. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to acquire, under single source for ASR9 Encoders, NSN 5990-01-319-5667, within the National Airspace System (NAS). In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced based on the encoder manufactured by Sensor Systems, LLC was placed under AJW-146 Configuration Management Control as an approved, qualified part. Configuration Management Control is administered and directed by the Joint Resource Council (JRC) any changes, additions, or alternative replacement parts in this configuration must be managed and approved by the NAS CCB (National Airspace System Configuration Control Board) according to procedures established by the JRC (Joint Resource Council). As a result, AML-2000 is under an external mandate to purchase only approved and qualified parts in the configuration baseline. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Sensor Systems LLC and is not available for full and open competition.
