Description
The 9th Contracting Squadron is publicizing this SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE in order to gather industry information about the acquisition of a Wireless Intercom System to work in conjunction with the U-2 Pilot Helmet. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be made as a result. The Air Force will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice. Any future solicitation, including specifications and/or drawings, will be made available only on the Federal Business Opportunities website (https://www.fbo.gov/). Statement of Need 1. Purpose: Wireless communication system used to communicate with U-2 pilot while wearing Full Pressure Suit (FPS) during equipment & aircraft integration and transportation from 9 PSPTS and flight line. 2. Requirements: Due to specialized connections on the FPS helmet and aircraft, David Clark Co, Inc. (manufacturer of FPS helmet) has manufactured a specialized adapter cord, transmitter and receiver to communicate with the pilot indoors and outdoors. Quantities requested would be for local mission support. 3. Delivery Date: Upon contract award, the contractor would be able to ship systems within three weeks. Interested Parties are solely responsible for monitoring the aforementioned website for the release of a solicitation package and/or any updates and/or amendments. All interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and be able to prove compliance.
