Description

SLAC seeks vendors that can provide TARANIS laser Equipment. The spare parts will be used for the MEC Project at SLAC. Specifications of the spare parts useful for MEC follows: • 2 HEM Ti:Sapphire laser rods 90 degrees, of different sizes. o Size of crystals: o 50 mm diameter x 30 mm long o 16 mm diameter x 20 mm long o Surface coatings: o Surfaces are super-polished better tha 10-5 scratch dig o Faces are flat lambda/10 at 632 nm o Dual band AR/AR coating <0.5% Reflection at 532 nm, <1% at 650-950 nm. o LPSP absorption at 532 nm 90-96% • Large area gratings: o Absolute Efficiency: 90% ±3% measured at 10° deviation angle o Blaze: 800nm o Substrate Size: >200mm diameter, 30mm thick o Substrate Material: ULE o Groove Density: 1480gr/mm o Surface Flatness: λ/4 @ 632nm o Coating: Gold • 2 second harmonic generation KDP crystals o >50 mm in diameter o dual surface coatings for 1054 nm and 527 nm o Protective oven Reports, data, and other deliverables The system/parts will be delivered altogether as a part of an older decommissioned laser system called ‘Taranis'. The delivered system will additionally include all the optomechanical elements forming the Taranis laser, including: o Oscillator o Regenerative amplifier o 2 optical tables o PFN racks o Optics and optomechanics of pump lasers and 200 TW lasers.
