- Brand Name Justification FAR 52.212-5 This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 "Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items," as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-RML-D- 1802883 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2015-89 July 14, 2016. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 333249, Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The small business set aside is dissolved for this acquisition. This is a brand name request for Eppendorf products. Eppendorf is the manufacturer and is other than small business for this NAICS code. ***Brand Name Justification Attached Description of the Requirement: The Comparative Medicine Branch (CMB) requires the following Eppendorf items for existing microscope system: Description Catalog Qty 1 Adapter Nikon 1, for Eppendorf micromanipulation systems 5192316008 1 each 2 Femtojet 4i.programmable micro-injector 5252000021 1 each 3 Eppendorf TansferMAn 4r, Micromanipulators with dual speed joystick 5193000020 2 each 4 shipping The government intends to award firm fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor as a result of this RFQ that will include the terms and conditions set forth herein. The award will be based on the following; capability to meet the requirements, price, delivery and the best value to the government.
