SOW SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Sources Sought Number: Notice Type: FA8224-16-R-0210BG Sources Sought Synopsis: 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332813 which has a corresponding Size standard of 500 employees. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. Program Details: This requirement is to provide new chrome anodes to be designed and built for C-17 aircraft landing gear components. The anodes shall be designed and built at the contractor's facility in support of the 309th Commodities Maintenance Group (309 CMXG) located at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah. The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. Updated information will be provided in future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business opportunities homepage at www.fbo.gov. The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this request for information. The Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) Operating Location Hill, Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah, intends to issue a formal RFP in September 2016 timeframe for the acquisition of the anodes required for this effort at Hill AFB, UT. All conforming anodes shall be designed to plate C-17 landing gear components per the Technical Order (TO)(most current version) requirements listed in Appendix A in the attached Statement of Work (SOW). Material required for chrome anodes shall be per DPS 9.71 to be compatible with standard chrome solution. The contractor shall provide all labor, supplies, tooling, equipment and certifications needed to design and build the anodes for the period of October 15, 2016 through October 14, 2018. Only contractors that are certified by Boeing to perform chrome plating per DPS 9.71 may be considered. A draft Statement of Work is attached. The Government requests interested parties to submit a brief statement of current capability to perform these services and a letter of interest. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hub-zone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. Interested and qualified sources should provide the following information: (1) company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type of business and size; (2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed five) to include brief description, names, POCs, phone numbers, value & type of contract, and period of performance; and (3) information about your company and why you think you can supply the anodes. (4) Include in your submission responses to the questionnaire. Please limit your submissions to ten pages.
