- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Airways Systems Engineering (AJW-14) has a requirement for the annual Actuate Silver Support Plan software maintenance; and, support for the Actuate Enterprise Reporting Platform utilized by the entire Air Traffic Organization (ATO) and provided exclusively and proprietarily by Actuate Corporation, Business Intelligence and Reporting Platform for the continuance of software support and maintenance for development and production Business Intelligence (BI) environments. There are eight (8) technical requirements to support our current development and production environments: 1. Compatible with Oracle Data 2. Integrated portal / dashboard-style reporting and reports created from existing Oracle data 3. Ability for user to interact / reformat / filter reported data 4. Ability to import / export Microsoft Project data 5. Built on Java / J2EE platform 6. Compatible with Java / J2EE platform 7. Eclipse-based interface 8. Fully browser-based (no plug-ins or applets) Actuate Corporation is the only source found to meet all 8 technical criteria. The FAA contemplates awarding a Purchase Order to fulfill this requirement. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with Actuate Corporation, San Mateo, CA, in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4., on a single source basis as Actuate Corp. retains the proprietary rights to the Silver Support Plan. This support is not available to distributors or third parties. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed priced type purchase order will be used to accommodate these commercially offered items. The determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm is necessitated and supported by the fact that Actuate Corporation is an established BI vendor to involve Open Source BI products such as Eclipse, specifically the Eclipse Foundation ™s Open Source Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) project. Actuate has integrated BIRT technology into the Actuate platform as the basis for their reporting architecture. This announcement is for information purposes only.
