- Specifications document Combined Synopsis Solicitation The following characteristics for this tunable laser are as listed below: • Tuning range 1530nm to 1620nm with no mode hops • Analog, continuous frequency tuning capability with >30 GHz range and 1 kHz bandwidth • 50 mW output power • <150 pm accuracy in wavelength • <10 pm repeatability in wavelength • 10 nm/s wavelength scanning speed • <100 kHz laser linewidth • laser polarization vertical 100:1 extinction • PM FC/APC fiber output • 35 GHz fine piezo frequency scanning with no mode hops • No spurs in intensity noise or frequency noise spectra at >50 kHz • TEM00 output mode shape • Integrated optical isolator with 40 dB isolation and >95% transmission • Integrated fiber coupling mount with >75% coupling efficiency • Low-noise laser controller with integrated current and temperature control for the laser • Laser scanning capability • USB plus touch screen interface to the laser controller • laser controller provides high bandwidth and low delay modulation capability for piezo and laser current. Current modulation bandwidth > 1 MHz. • Laser intensity noise better than -160 dBc/Hz for >100 kHz carrier offset • Laser head free from mechanical vibrations such as cooling fans • The laser must provide wide mode hop free frequency tuning across the 1530-1620 nm range. • It must offer >35 GHz fine frequency tuning range with a piezo. • The laser must accept analog voltage input for both the fine piezo scanning and current modulation for fast frequency scanning. • The laser must have a narrow linewidth of <100 kHz and have low frequency and intensity noise.
