Description
Synopsis: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement for maintenance dredging for the Ohio, Monongahela, and Allegheny River open channel areas in various locations upstream of Hannibal Locks and Dam. The general description of the work is as follows: Maintenance dredging at six locks totaling approximately 12,000 to 15,000 cubic yards of sediment. Removal of shoals as identified by the Government and delineated on contract drawings. Material may include silt, sand, rock, cobble, coal, logs, trees, and other organics. Required work may not be restricted to floating plant situations, and may require land based equipment operations independent of, or in conjunction with the same. Testing, classification, and handling of dredge materials in accordance with the requirements in the specifications. Placement of dredged clean fill at Georgetown Island (Ohio River Mile 37.7) behind stone dikes constructed in this contract. Construction of stone dikes at Georgetown Island using stone located at Emsworth Locks and Dam. Seeding of sediments placed at Georgetown Island. Surveying of Georgetown Island. Construction will occur in close proximity to waterway traffic. Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This is an unrestricted procurement. All responsible offerors are encouraged to participate. NAICS code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The period of performance for this procurement is estimated to be 180 days plus one option for 45 additional days which equals 225 days. All responsible bidders are encouraged to participate. The work is located on the Ohio, Monongahela and Allegheny River open channel areas in various locations upstream of Hannibal Locks and Dam. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately August 3, 2016, online through Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov); therefore, requests for hardcopies of the solicitation will not be honored. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this presolicitation, interested vendors must register as such on the FBO.gov website. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible for providing notification of any changes to the solicitation.
