Description
This work involves investigation, design, construction, and delivery of the personnel hoist systems. A site visit shall be necessary to investigate field conditions, and verify dimensions to ensure the design shall work within the existing geometry of the generator floor openings. The general configuration of the currently used guided personnel hoists may be used for reference, although it does not meet current ANSI A10.22 standards. A guided personnel hoist is required. This is not a solicitation. This SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS is for the purpose of identifying firms which are capable and interested in offering a proposal for the design and fabrication of two spiral/scroll case personnel hoists. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District is getting ready to advertise a firm fixed priced solicitation utilizing FAR PART 12 and FAR Part 14, Invitation for Bid, for two (2) identical 600 lb capacity guided portable personnel hoist, air or electrically driven to be delivered to Bonneville Lock and Dam. This work involves investigation, design, fabrication, and delivery of the personnel hoist systems. The resultant contract will be comprised in two priced components, conceptual design and fabrication. Prior to fabrication, the contractor shall submit conceptual designs to the government for review. The government will have 10 business days to review for compliance of this Scope of Work. If the government finds deficiencies in concept, specifically as it relates to the Scope of Work, the contractor shall accommodate as needed. Once the concept is approved by the government, fabrication would commence. See attached Drafted Scope of Work for additional details; specifically the performance and sizing requirements of these two spiral scroll case personnel hoists. A site visit will be held at a later, to be determined, date to for potential interested offerors to investigate field conditions, and verify dimensions to ensure the design will work within the existing geometry of the floor openings. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333923. The size standard is 500 employees.
