- Description
- Capability Survey W/Questionnaire Ground Collision Avoidance System (GCAS) We are conducting market research for an engineering service to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of Ground Collision Avoidance System (GCAS). GCAS consists of two major components, the Ground Collision Avoidance Computer (GCAC) and the Air Data Computer (ADC). The GCAC provides visual and aural warnings to the pilot and copilot that help identify the cause of a warning and take appropriate action. The ADC provides aircraft flight detail such as altitude, airspeed, height deviation, and air temperature by acquiring and processing data from sensors, including avionics buses and pitot tubes. This requirement is for a GCAS redesign due to obsolescence. The GCAS is currently not procurable and experiencing sustainability issues. The outcome of this requirement will be the development and qualification of a Form, Fit, Function, and Interface (F3I) of three (3) Ground Collision Avoidance Computers (GCACs) and three (3) Air Data Computer (ADCs) that is a compatible replacement for the legacy GCAS on the C-130 aircraft. This effort includes a total of six (6) LRUs, line-replaceable units, for development of 6 prototypes, a technical data package (TDP), and an updated GCAS Item Specification List. Interested contractors should respond IAW the attached capability survey.
