Description
This is sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses with special interest in seeking: Small Businesses (SB); VA certified Service Disabled Veteran owned Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) small business concerns: Women Owned business. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. Your responses will be due by Friday, July 22, 2016, 4:00PM (EST) to the point of contact listed below. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, ARS, located in Ames Iowa is seeking information on 2 each Dissocialator Equal to 130-095-0937 GentleMACS Octo Dissociator See attachment for salient specifications. The appropriate NAICS Code 334516 and the small business size standard are 1000. Interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract. ALL INQUIRIES SHALL BE MADE TO: Contracting Officer: Sarah Schauf by July 29th,2016 @ 10:00 AM CST. 1) The machine needs to be programmable, including allowing development of individualized programs, to allow detailed settings for homogenization at different levels, or lengths of time so that recovery of cells, protein, RNA, and/or DNA can be maximized. The unit shall include standard programs for tissue processing. Individual programing is needed to allow preparation of unique operation cycles that will meet processing requirements for different tissue samples and/or experimental objectives. 2) The unit must have sterile disposable tubes that can be sealed in a manner that prevents the creation of potentially dangerous aerosols or spills. Each disposable tube should have an internal rotor system such that entire units are disposable to prevent cross contamination between samples. Disposable tubes shall also be capable of being used with solvents, including phenol and chloroform based extraction procedures. 3) The unit should be capable of not only dissociating or homogenating samples, but also capable of being programed for gentle tissue disruption that yields single-cell suspensions suitable for analysis of cell surface epitopes. 4) The unit must be able to process at least eight samples in a single run. Must have specifications include: The equipment must be capable of handling at least 8 samples simultaneously with all tubes enclosed and capable of processing samples suspended in solvents such as phenol or chloroform. Processing and homogenization must be done in a closed and sterile system, there can be no contamination between samples, there cannot be any aerosols generated during processing, and materials used for isolation must be sterile and not reused.
