Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE 578-16-019, Replacement Roof Building 7 at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, supervision, management, transportation, supplies and materials to perform construction services related to but not limited to the following on Building 18:. 1) Demolition: Remove approximately 7,100 SF of existing Built-up Roof (BUR) shall be removed down to the concrete deck level and replace with new Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofing system. Remove all existing cast iron roof drain assemblies. Remove approximately 550 LF of metal capping on the parapet wall. Remove all flashing for new roofing system. Protect from the weather the building during demolition and construction. 2)Construction: Clean and repair deck as needed to accept new roofing material and system. Install new Cast Iron Roof Drain assemblies including new metal drain dome baskets, similar in type and size to the existing. Install Insulation Board per specifications to achieve minimum R33 rating. Install approximately 7,100 SF of new Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing system per specifications. The color of the TPO sheeting shall be White. Install approximately 550 LF of new white Aluminum coping on the parapet wall and other items related to Replacement Roof Building 7 at the Hines VA Hospital. All work as per design documents and Scope of Work. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB's). All prospective contractors must be verified on the Center for Veterans Enterprises (CVE) website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.fbo.gov. There will be pre-Bid conference and walk-through held for this project. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation will be issued on/about 29 July 2016 with the bid opening on/about 30 August 2016. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from www.fbo.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, of the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238160; size standard $15.0million applies.
