- Description
- On July 13, 2016, GSA is hosting an industry day afternoon to support of the Cybersecurity National Action Plan (CNAP). This West Coast session is a followup to the DC-based industry day workshop held last month. GSA is visiting the Bay Area to bring together government and industry partners to discuss GSA's role in the CNAP, to identify new ways GSA can engage technology and security companies interested in providing their services to government buyers, and to provide an opportunity for industry to understand the cyber acquisition strategy regarding proactive and reactive cybersecurity services identified in the CNAP. GSA speakers will discuss GSA's role in government and acquisition strategies; doing business through GSA; the new Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) Cyber Special Item Number (SIN); how GSA is making it easier for small businesses utilization; and how GSA can better leverage new and innovative technologies and services to improve federal cybersecurity. There will be an afternoon breakout session for industry to hear about GSA’s FASt Lane program, SIN transition process, and to provide industry with an opportunity to discuss challenges, and hear about opportunities, for entering into the federal marketplace. The industry day will accomplish the following objectives: Support GSA’s mission to deliver the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people; Provide an opportunity for government stakeholders and industry partners to ask CNAP-related questions; Raise awareness of the October 30, 2015, OMB Memo M-16-04, the Cybersecurity Strategy and Implementation Plan (CSIP), and CNAP; Inform industry partners and federal agencies about the upcoming Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) Special Item Number (SIN); Discuss new and emerging cybersecurity services and how those services can be used by federal departments and agencies.
