Description
Solicitation NOTE: This is a 100% small business set-aside The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) Richmond, Virginia has a need for a contractor to provide all labor, material, supervision and tools to replace the existing galvanized sprinkler piping with Schedule 40 black sprinkler piping located in Building 66 D-Bay at the Defense Supply Center Richmond. Contractor shall remove all existing Schedule 40 galvanized sprinkler piping, couplings, hangers and sprinkler heads and replace them with new Schedule 40 black pipes and associated hardware. The contractor must modify two roll-up doors electrical controls to the Battery Room and they must be wired to close upon a fire alarm condition, and reopen when the alarm is reset at the fire panel. Also, the battery roller platform will also have to be modified to allow clearance for the opening and closing of one of the rollup doors while still allowing roller access for the batteries. The batteries and chargers will remain in place and must be protected at all times during the project. The contractor shall produce for submittal, plans that detail all the work to be performed, and provide for approval one hard sketch and one electronic (adobe or AutoCAD) sketch of the electrical changes to the rollup door controls. A fire protection Engineer or a NICEET level IV must sign or notarize the sketches. The contractor must have on hand a technician that has a NICET level III to supervise the tie-in of the door controls back to the fire panel. Post construction testing of the tie-in circuit and the testing of the sprinklers must be accomplished by the Contractor before the final testing with the Government which includes the DLA AHJ and/or the local fire department. A NICET level III must be present by the contractor. All shop drawings shall be signed by a licensed P.E. and submitted to the Government prior to construction. All work shall be done I/A/W the attached Scope of Work identified as Attachment No. 1, the Wage Rate Decision VA160092 Dated: March 25, 2016. All invoices must be processed through the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) in accordance with Attachment No. 3.
