Description
Request for Information Only: SSA-RFI-17-1004 Agency/Office: Office of Budget, Finance, and Management Location: Office of Acquisition and Grants Title: Nationwide IT Installation and Relocation Services Request for Information (RFI) Social Security Administration Description The Social Security Administration (SSA) is in search of 8(a) contractor(s) to provide information technology equipment relocation and installation and de-installation services nationwide for Local Area Networks (LANs), workstations and related peripheral equipment (as described below) located in the 10 SSA Regions that consist of approximately 1,500 offices. These offices include SSA Headquarters (HQ) located in Baltimore, Maryland, all HQ data centers (the National Support Center in Urbana, MD and the Secondary Support Center in Durham, NC), SSA Regional offices, Field Offices and State Disability Determination Service Offices located throughout the United States and its outlying territories. Requirement SSA requires relocation services nationwide for Ethernet LANs using Microsoft Windows operating systems and Intel Core Processors generation 4 or 6. The LAN and associated workstations consist of IP addressable devices, including VoIP telephones, dual monitors, standalone personal computers, local and network laser printers, Single Device Setup (SDS) laptops, docking stations, and peripherals and LAN equipment including LAN cabinets, switches, routers, file servers and tape libraries. There will be approximately 250-350 relocations per year. The majority of moves are within a 50-mile radius from the previous office, but some moves are several hundred miles (especially some California/West Coast moves). Relocations typically include site build-out with furniture installations that must be completed prior to IT equipment installation. Build-outs often experience delays. The contractor shall monitor any work that must immediately precede IT Equipment installation for possible delays. This monitoring will include periodic contact with SSA site contacts and SSA's office of Realty Management. Any delays that appear to adversely affect the equipment installation shall be reported to the Contracting Officers Technical Representative. The requirement is described in more detail in the attached "draft Statement of Work" (SOW). Contractors are invited to provide comments or pose questions regarding the draft SOW in their responses. Contractors currently performing services consistent with these requirements should submit a response with the following information: 1)All applicable North American Industry Classification Code(s) and 8(a) small business status; 2)Provide information about your corporate experience and/or capabilities to provide relocation services nationwide for Local Area Networks, workstations and related peripheral equipment as described in the attached Draft Statement of Work; 3)Proposed business processes to perform information technology equipment relocation services in offices located throughout the place of performance referenced above. 4)How do you handle last-minute changes to a schedule (less than 7 days ™ notice)? 5)What types of performance issues and problems has your company had to handle? And how did you resolve these issues? 6)What kind of background checks do you conduct on your employees? Contractors responding to this Request for Information (RFI) should be aware that this is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or Request for Proposal. This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by SSA. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by SSA to form a binding contract. SSA does not intend to award a contract because of this RFI or reimburse a contractor for any information provided because of this RFI. Interested sources that believe they have the ability to perform the services required, regardless of business size, should submit a detailed response addressing the requested information in writing to Katherine Medeiros, via email at Katherine.medeiros@ssa.gov. Note: 5MB limitation for email size. Please reference SSA-RFI-17-1004 in the email subject line. Responses must be received by 1:00PM EST on June 30, 2016.
