- Description
- This notice is provided for information purposes only. NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) awarded a firm-fixed-price contract to ViGYAN, Inc. for the effort entitled "Shooting for the Stars with our Feet on the Ground: Liberating Leapfrog Innovation". This award results from a competitive selection under the NASA Headquarters released NASA Research Announcement (NRA) NNH15ZEA001N for foundational research in support of the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD), entitled "Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2015", Appendix D.4 Convergent Aeronautics Solutions Project (CAS1), Subtopic 4.2.1 Transformative Innovation. NASA's Convergent Aeronautics Solutions Project sought to engage the external community to assist NASA to identify, assess, and adapt alternative methods and tools to support an innovative culture and build an innovative workforce able to respond to global trends including accelerating pace of technological change, ready access to technical information, advances in technologies outside of aeronautics, and increasing complexity of society. CAS will accomplish this goal by leveraging internal investments associated with developing and applying best practices associated with technology development methodologies to more effectively create potential for greater system-level impacts by sponsoring external studies and assessments based on most recent developments in related fields of study. The results of the effort, external studies, assessments, and collaborative activities, will help to inform and influence the design and implementation of CAS operational and project management models and practices, training, and skills development, team facilitation, and support for innovators.
