- The U.S. Geological Survey Leetown Science Center has a requirement for the rehabilitation of a 150,000 gallon spheroid water tower located in Kearneysville, West Virginia. The forthcoming competitive request for proposals (RFP) will include full design specifications for the work, however a partial list of requirements includes: 1) Replacement of interior and exterior painting systems and the repair or replacement of other appurtenances including but not limited to the tank, vent, overflow pipe termination, tank base cone, ladder, inlet/outlet pipe insulation, roof hatch handrails, ladder cable system, gate valves, gaskets, and stainless steel nameplate. The work must be completed within 180 days from the date the Contractor receive the notice to proceed. There are no option periods The magnitude of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. Request for Proposal (RFP) G16PS00232 will be issued on or about June 20, 2016 with responses due on or about July 21, 2016. The awarded Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond. All contractors submitting proposals will be required to provide a bid bond. A site visit will be held. The date, time, and contact info for the site visit will be in the forthcoming solicitation. CONTRACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE SITE VISIT. The NAICS code is 238320. The size standard is $15.0 million. This acquisition will be a total small business set-aside pursuant to FAR Part 19. The anticipated award date of the contract is August 4, 2016. A vendor must be registered at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ to be eligible for award. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Proposals may be emailed to dgalvin@usgs.gov or mailed to the address specified in the RFP. Faxed proposals and proposals submitted through FedConnect will not be accepted.
