Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NCIRD/ISD, 1600 Clifton Rd. NE, Mailstop A19, Atlanta, GA, 30333, hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source contract to The University of Georgia Research Foundation, Inc. for 12 months of remote access to the Advanced Photon Source/SER-CAT Beamtime. NAICS Code: 541711 Period of Performance: 09/01/2016 through 08/31/2017 The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). Advanced Photon Source (APS) currently offers the brightest beam and the most advanced technology for macromolecular crystallography in USA. APS is the only facility where CDC has a current user agreement in place to allow our staff access to APS for data collection. Our research staff has prior experience with the APS/SERCAT beamlines and are very familiar with the beamline staff, hardware and software facilities. Furthermore, the staff is familiar with and fully trained to operate the current robotic screening system used for remote crystal sample screening and data collection. This procurement will guarantee us continued access to the SER-CAT beamline for the next year. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency for future procurement. Please forward the capability statement and/or pricing information to Michael Harwell, Contracting Specialist, Reference 200-2016-M-90036, Centers for Disease Control, Procurement and Grants Office, ATTN: Michael Harwell, MS: K14, 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341.
