- Date: May 25, 2016 NOTICE TITLE CHANGE AND Section 5 below -- Amend 0001 The following replaces Section 5 Selection Criteria, at (b)Professional Qualifications: Qualified personnel with experience in the following key positions. (1) Registered Professional Land Surveyor registered in the state of Texas (RPLS); with a minimum of five years' experience. A bachelor degree in surveying, hotogrammetry, geodetic surveying, geodesy, remote sensing, cartography or related field is preferred. (2) Hydrographic surveyor: A degree in engineering, geography, hydrogeology, surveying, geophysics or related field. Adept and proficient in the usage of modern computerized equipment such as multibeam, HYPACK surveying software, GPS systems, sound navigation systems and SONARs. The education requirement can be waived with at least five-years of continuous experience as a hydrographic surveyor. (3) Survey Party Chief. A degree in engineering, surveying or related field is preferred with a minimum of three years' experience as a survey party crew chief. The education requirement can be waived with at least five-years of continuous experience as a survey party crew chief. (4) Engineering and Survey Technicians experienced in compilation and computation of data obtained by both conventional and automated survey methods. (5) Drafting Personnel/CADD Operators a degree and/or certification in drafting or related field is preferred. The education requirement can be waived with at least three-years of continuous experience as a CADD technician. (6) CADD Managers: A degree in engineering, surveying, drafting, or related field is preferred with a minimum of three years' experience. The education requirement can be waived with at least five-years of continuous experience as a CADD technician. Experienced so as to be able to provide digital data in a format compatible with the Galveston District's Microstation/Bentley CADD System. (7) Instrument, and Rod and Chain Persons experienced in gathering survey data by conventional instruments, electronic data collectors and GPS methods. 8) Boat Operators USCG licensed preferred and/or experienced and trained in vessel operations.
