- Description
- The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is seeking information regarding software packages which integrates with existing CCV systems to read license plates. No hardware is required and the software shall not degrade recording capabilities or images. The software can be closed or have outward communications to check access lists, NCIC etc. against license plates. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to get a better understanding of the commercial marketplace in relation to this type of software for market research purposes. The Government may request to meet with RFI respondents to demonstrate their software. Any demonstrations conducted will be in the Washington DC area. This is a Request for Information only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFP/RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply of service whatsoever. Further, FPS is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI or subsequent software demonstration. All costs associated with responding to the RFI or any subsequent software demonstration will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. Interested parties are directed to respond to this RFI and provide a response on the capabilities of its license plate reading software. Responses are due no later than 3:00 pm EST on May 31, 2016 and are limited to five pages. Responses or any questions regarding this RFI shall be sent to Josh Clemens at josh.b.clemens@hq.dhs.gov indicating the RFI number in the subject line. This RFI is only intended for the Government to identify sources in the commercial marketplace that can provide the needed software to fulfill the Government's objectives. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the RFI requirements discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
