Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the Concrete Repairs project at the Townshend Dam, Townshend, Vermont. The NAICS codes for the work described below is 238110 (size standard $15M). The project is planned to be issued in June 2016, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a two-month period occurring in the fall of 2016. Cost will be in $100,000 to $500,000 range. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The location of work to be performed under this contract shall be at the Townshend Dam, located in Townshend, Vermont. The scope of the project is as follows: a. Spillway Weir • Remove loose concrete, clean with a high pressure water blast, and apply a bonding agent and mortar to the two worst spalled areas on the upstream face of the spillway weir, and a large spalled area on the downstream face of the spillway. • Repair the rock anchor pockets along the top of the weir, to complete the repairs started by a previous contractor. b. Exterior Stairs • Remove loose concrete material at areas having spalling and poor concrete consolidation, clean with a high pressure water blast, and apply a bonding agent and mortar to several areas at the exterior stairs on the intake tower. c. Chimney • Remove loose material and fill the interior vertical wall cracks with a flexible sealant along their entire length at the crack in the chimney wall in the northwest corner of the control tower. d. Outlet Channel Northeast Toe Wall • Demolish and remove the entire outlet channel northeast toe wall. This will require removing the chain link fence that is currently on top of this wall. • Install a new outlet channel northeast toe wall, with a new chain link fence, to duplicate what is currently there. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about June 17th, 2016. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
