- Description
- The US Department of Defense, Communications Electronics Command (CECOM), Project Manager Tactical Radios purchased a large number of receiver-transmitters and amplifiers to provide Tactical Satellite (TACSAT) radio communications to the war fighter. The Harris Corporation was selected. Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is seeking interested sources for a synthetic instrumentation system, capable of testing and aligning the following TACSAT radios: AN/PRC-117G(V), AN/VRC-114(V), and AN/TRC-227(V). These radios are beginning to arrive from the field. All four of the major military departments purchased these radios. Factory warranties vary among the departments; ranging from five to ten years. Harris has stated that using Harris approved parts and following Harris practices and procedures; Harris would honor the remainder of the Harris warranty. Potential sources must be able to demonstrate that the testing solution, hardware and test program, is accepted by the Harris and is compliant to Harris' testing criteria. The system shall be used on a standard work bench, 6 feet long by 3 feet deep. The system, when assembled, shall leave an area of 2 feet by 2 feet of work area. The subject receiver-transmitter and/or amplifier will reside in this work area. The system must be powered from a single utility power source (115 VAC at 15 amp single phase circuit). The system's test connections must be accessible from the front face. Data entry, for accessing the system's features must be through a front panel or remote keyboard. The provider must also demonstrate that the test system is currently on the market and can be delivered in 30 days. The provider must also identify how the testing capability can cover future Army radio purchases from Harris Corporation: AN/VRC-118(V).
