Description
The United States of Department of State (DOS), Office of Logistics Management, Acquisition Management, is seeking market research for the Department's Bureau of Public Affairs, Office of the Historian (PA/HO) for qualified small businesses that can support its current operation of indexing for the Foreign Relations of the United States series. Each volume in the Foreign Relations series is a highly complex documentary edition with multiple subjects and persons. Candidates must be able to compile from typeset page proofs, back-of-the-book, hierarchical, name and subject indexes, according to accepted editorial standards and specific guidelines for indexing Foreign Relations volumes. The candidates must have expert professional knowledge of scholarly indexing practices, and professional experience compiling indexes for publications in one or more of the following fields: history, foreign relations, diplomacy, law, international affairs, or other social sciences disciplines. The candidates must also have general knowledge of the history of the United States, world history, and major recent developments in U.S. foreign policy. During the term of service PA/HO will require indexes for 8 to 12 volumes of approximately 1000 pages each, each completed within 6 to 8 weeks after receiving the typeset pages and provide the index to PA/HO as a hierarchical Microsoft Word file. Candidates must demonstrate their capacity to meet these requirements. Timeliness and attention to detail in communications and deliveries are of the utmost importance. The NACIS code for this requirement is 519190. This is a Request for Information Announcement (RFI) for the government to conduct a market research for qualified small businesses that have the experience and expertise in providing the indexing support for the above mentioned requirement. This is market research for only small businesses. Therefore, all small business interested parties should submit their company's capability statement no later than May 20, 2016, Standard Eastern Time at 12:00 a.m. All interested parties must be registered in the Central Contract of Registration (www.ccr.gov). All questions or concerns in regards to this requirement must be submitted in writing via email to JonesRD@state.gov. No questions or inquiries will be accepted by telephone or fax. The distribution of the RFI will be accomplished solely through the FedBizOpps website at http://www.fbo.gov/. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring FedBizOpps website to assure they have the most up-to-date information about this announcement.
