Description
SPECIAL NOTICE INDUSTRY DAY MAINTENANCE DREDGING BALTIMORE HARBOR 2016-2017 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District would like to invite dredging industry contractors to participate in an Industry Day for the FY16-17 Baltimore Harbor Maintenance Dredging Project. This event is not a marketing opportunity. The event will be held on May 24, 2016 at the Masonville MES trailers at 1000 Frankfurst Ave. Baltimore MD 21226 10:00 AM. This will be a firm-fixed price construction contract. The construction magnitude is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The anticipated North Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction). Pending available funds, Approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of material consisting primarily of mud, silt, sand, shell, and mixtures thereof would be dredged by clamshell and scow. The material will be dredged by clamshell and scow and be placed in the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility, (400,000 CY), the Paul S. Sarbanes Ecosystems Restoration Project at Poplar Island (500,000 CY), and in a Confined Aquatic Disposal Cell (100,000 CY) located near the Masonville Dredged Material Containment Facility. Maryland Port Administration is responsible for environmental monitoring of the Confined Aquatic Disposal Cell in accordance with the Department of the Army permit. In addition, the placement operations must accommodate ship arrivals and departures from the Fairfiled Marine Terminal Pier 4 and the Masonville Vessel Berth Pier 3. The purpose of this event will be to seek dredging industry input regarding best practices for placement of dredged material at the Masonville CAD cell.
