- S-61T Medavac Modifications Aviation Engineering and Modification Services, S-61T Supplies and Services The Department of State, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Aviation (INL/A), has a requirement to incorporate a series of modifications for the purpose of providing additional capabilities for the missions assigned in current operating locations for the Department of State owned S-61T aircraft. This medium lift rotary wing aircraft performs a variety of missions. At times the aircraft operates from forward operating locations under primitive conditions and at other times from international airports executing instrument approaches. The primary mission is to transport passengers and cargo into and out of austere field sites located throughout the theater of operations in support of the U S Embassies. This mission requires that the aircraft have personnel and cargo carrying capability as well as Medevac capabilities. These aircraft will serve in remote areas with few bases from which to operate these thirteen (13) S-61T aircraft. The U.S. Department of State (DoS) has determined a need for professional aircraft engineering and modification services to modify one (1) S-61T aircraft, and provide twelve (12) additional kit sets and implementation instructions for the below described series of aircraft modifications in the S-61T aircraft. The successful contractor shall possess substantial documented experience with S-61T aircraft structural and electrical systems and with performing aircraft modifications on S-61T aircraft structures, wiring systems, accessories and mission equipment.
