- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Colorado State University, Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology, 1682 Campus Delivery, Fort Collins, CO 80523-1682 to provide biosurveillance training and ecological studies on bats in Uganda. Since 2009, the CDC, Division of Vector-Borne Diseases has been capturing bats in Uganda with the aims of discovering novel human viral pathogens and identifying arbovirus associations with particular bat species at the human-bat interface that could potentially spill-over into humans. This contract is an extension of that work. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(B). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by May 4, 2016 at 2:00PM EST of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
