Description
Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J. Peter VA Medical Center is currently conducting a market survey for qualified contractors capable of Installing Generator Cabling. This notice is for solicitation number VA243-16-R-0575 - Install Generator Cabling at various locations at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport NY 11768-2200. Locations include: Building 5, Building 6, Building 10, Building 13, Building 21, & Building 36. This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result, all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS Code 236220, and has a size standard of $36.5 Million. The cost estimate range for this project is $250,000.00 to $500,000.00. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: The contractor will furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to accomplish the job to install, test and commission a transfer switch (manual or automatic as indicated in paragraph "F"), all associated cabling 500 kcmil or equivalent to match voltage (permanent, protected cabling or temporary "Cam-Lock" cabling, according to paragraph "F") and electrical panels to allow for emergency generator backup power at select locations around the facility. Two of the six installations shall be permanent, standby, installations while the remaining four shall be controlled by a manual transfer switch and manual operation of the generator. Contractor shall install all components required to establish emergency backup power and test the generator and associated installed equipment to commission installation as emergency backup power. Two of the installations are considered permanent standby emergency power backup and therefore require a concrete pad, impact protection "bollards", and fencing for a permanent installation as part of the scope of work. These locations are identified on the matrix in paragraph "F". All other installations are considered temporary as the generators are trailer mounted and may be deployed in other areas of the facility, as needed. Paragraph F. Maintain all access to and egress from the buildings at all times for facility's fire protection requirements and to meet the requirements of regulatory codes, laws, etc. Performance on this contract shall be completed 30 Calendar days after issue of notice to proceed.
