Description
SOURCES SOUGHT This Sources Sought is being issued for planning purposes only and it is not a solicitation or pre-solicitation. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS INCURRED BY INTERESTED PARTIES IN RESPONDING TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT. The 628th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, SC is seeking contractors who are capable of providing this trailer service according to the following paragraph: Replace all wood flooring/mounting hardware on a 1994 Kalyn-Siebert trailer, MFG:Kalyn Siebert Model: KP-50AT, Width- 6'4" Length- 46'; The objective of this requirement is to remove and replace all rough-cut oak boards with commercial quality materials as well as new fasteners. The Scope of Work 1. The government will transport the unit to and from the vendor within 20 miles of JB Charleston. 2. Beyond-20 Miles the vendor shall pick up and return the asset. 3. New deck boards installed will not exhibit any excessive gaps between boards or metal frame work on either end or side seams. New deck boards shall be of a suitable closed grain pretreated hardwood material to withstand loading and un-loading of heavy construction equipment. New deck boards shall be treated with an appropriate type of wood sealer to preserve wood and extend serviceable life in accordance with MIL-HDBK-1223. "Use hardwood Material. prior to preservative treatment, wood surfaces shall be dry and thoroughly cleaned of dirt, grease and other foreign matter. Wood shall not contain more than 19 percent, by weight, of moisture before and after treatment. All untreated exposed areas resulting from subsequent fitting of such parts shall be liberally brushed with a preservative composed of 2.5 - 5.0 percent copper - 8 - quinolinolate. The preservation shall be accomplished by a pressure treating process." 4. The Vendor shall warranty all materials and workmanship. A Fixed Price type contract is contemplated. AT A MINIMUM, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS REQUIRED: (a) A positive statement of your intention to bid on this contract. (b) Business Size, Duns, Cage Code, Tax ID, and Point of Contact. (c) Capability Statement to include the condition of items sought. (d) Warranty Terms All of the above information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested businesses. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested vendor. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310 with a small business size standard of $7.500,000.00. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued electronically on the Federal Business opportunities web page at http://www.fbo.gov. Paper copies will not be available. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to visit this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. All prospective contractors must have a current and valid CAGE code and DUNS number in order to be eligible for award.
