Special Notice - Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 17, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a firm-fixed priced contract to Olympus America Inc. for procurement of the following services: Line Item 0001: Repair of Leased (Olympus) Equipment, Full Service; inclusive of the following equipment: Colonoscopes - Quantity: 23 EU Processor - Quantity: 2 Gastroscopes - Quantity: 8 Bronchoscopes - Quantity: 5 EUS Scopes - Quantity: 5 EUS Endoscopes - Quantity: 4 EUS Processor - Quantity: 1 Choledochofiberscope - Quantity: 1 Specialty Scopes - Quantity: 29 Arthroscopes - Quantity: 14 Telescopes - Quantity: 22 Video Gastroscopes - Quantity: 18 Video Lap Scope - Quantity: 8 Video Bronchoscopes - Quantity: 9 Dual Channel Ureteroscope - Quantity: 2 WA52005A - Quantity: 2 Camera Heads - Quantity: 5 HD Pendulum Camera Heads - Quantity: 6 ProSound F75 - Quantity: 2 Olympus Electronics - Quantity: 22 Location: Department of Veterans Affairs Central Texas Veterans Health Care System 1901 Veterans Memorial Dr. Temple, TX 76504-7451 Line 1001: Option Year I, Unit: MO, Quantity: 12 The proposed sole source procurement is being made by a GSA FSS pricing agreement with Olympus America, Inc. The equipment in the proposed service agreement is leased from Olympus America, Inc. and is currently being used at the aforementioned government address. Olympus America, Inc. states they are the only manufacturer-authorized service dealer for Olympus medical and surgical products. A Limited Sources Justification has been submitted for this requirement. This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice; however, any offers received may be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 5 days from the publication of this notice, an order will be issued to Olympus America, Inc. without further notice. The anticipated statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for the requirement is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 8.405-6 - Limited Sources. Notice: the POC for this notice does not have a Federal Business Opportunities registration account. The POC does not have any visibility to the "Interested Vendors List" tab within the notice. Interested firms must respond directly to the POC email address listed in the notice for consideration.
