Description

Synopsis VA528-16-B-0155: This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publically available. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a roofing contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision required for roof repair on Building 34 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Canandaigua, NY. Competition for this procurement is restricted to SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). The Canandaigua VA Medical Center. This project is to tear off the old roof inspect all roof decking for any possible rot. If any portion of the roof deck is suspect, cut out the section in question and replace with new, in kind decking. Provide new felt layer with ice/water shield. New man man-made Class A shingle system or equal per the reference and the specifications. Install ice and water shield at all valleys and at all drip edges and rakes. The project includes fascia covering, attic guard and to include ridge vent. All drip edges and rakes to get new dark bronze aluminum drip edge. Copper wall flashing, Snow guards to be installing per manufactures specifications. Remove and discard old flashing and install new flashing. Estimated construction cost range is $100,000-$250,000. The firm must be a Roofing Contractor approved under NAICS: 238160, size standard: $15.0 million. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of New York. Prospective contractors must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. Solicitation will be posted on/about April 22, 2016. A walk-through will be held on or about one week after the posting of the solicitation for this RFQ. These dates are estimates. The actual dates will be stated in the solicitation. The Contracting Specialist for this project is Emily Lindsey (Emily.Lindsey2@va.gov). This is a SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS SET-ASIDE.
