Description
COPY OF FAR 52.211-6 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL NARRATIVE WHICH DESCRIBES THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENT AND SOLICITS RESPONSES FROM POTENTIAL SOURCES EXPRESSING INTEREST IN QUOTING WHEN THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS TRANSITIONED TO A COMBINED SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION NOTICE. THE GOVERNMENT, PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD, KITTERY, ME HAS AN URGENT REQUIREMENT FOR ELECTRICAL EXTENSIONS AS ARTICULATED ON THE ATTACHED SOURCES SOUGHT DOCUMENT. THE ITEMS REQUIRED ARE LISTED IN THEIR ORDER OF DELIVERY PRIORITY WITH THE REQUIRED DELIVERY DATE FOR ALL ITEMS TO BE 13 MAY 2016. Because delivery concerns are crucial, the government anticipates the following evaluation criteria to be applied in evaluating all offers: 1. Low Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) if the delivery supports the 13 May Required Delivery Date (RDD). 2. If the LPTA offer does not meet the RDD, the government will then evaluate offers on the basis of delivery meeting the RDD. 3. If the government awards to other than the LPTA offer, it will document the contract file to demonstrate the increased cost for delivery is more than offset by the adverse impact of not having the material when needed at the RDD. THE REQUIREMENT IS IDENTIFIED BY BOTH DURALINE & INTEGRO P/N's WITH SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS PROVIDED FOR OFFERS TO APPLY WHEN CONSIDERING SUBMITTING "OR EQUAL" OFFERS. ALSO ATTACHED IS FAR 52.211-6 WHICH DISCUSSES CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING BRAND NAME OR EQUAL OFFERS. AT THIS POINT IN THE PROCESS THIS IS A "SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE" AND IS A PART OF THE GOVERNMENT'S MARKET RESEARCH. PLEASE CONSULT THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENT AS WELL AS WHAT THE GOVERNMENT IS LOOKING FOR IN TERMS OF A RESPONSE FROM THE MARKET. QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO: MICHAEL "MIKE" SCHESSER MICHAEL.R.SCHESSER@NAVY.MIL 207-438-1931
