Description

This acquisition is conducted under the authority FAR part 13. The identified equipment is sole source, therefore, consideration of the number of contractors is precluded for the reasons indicated below. (1)(a) NATURE AND/OR DESCRIPTION OF ACTION BEING APPROVED: One (1) Phazr LED Stroboscopy ENT system (#70-6405-1) for the new Monterey HCC. (2)IDENTIFICATION OF THE JUSTIFICATION RATIONALE (SEE FAR 8.405-6), AND IF APPLICABLE, A DEMONSTRATION OF THE PROPOSED CONTRACTOR'S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED SUPPLY OR SERVICE. 1Specific characteristics of the material or service that limit the availability to a sole source (unique features, function of the item, etc.). Describe in detail why only this suggested source can furnish the requirements to the exclusion of other sources. JEDMED is the exclusive distributors the subject equipment. The anticipated cost to the government of $64,560.00 has been determined fair and reasonable based on comparisons to the independent government cost estimate (IGCE) in accordance with FAR 13.106-3(a)(2)(Vi). (3)Statutory Authority Permitting Other than Full and Open Competition: FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) (i) -circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
