- Description
- Amendment 0002: Amendment 0002: Question - Answer: Ductwork Cleaning and Maintenance Q.1. Are contractors able to take the power washer up to the 18 floor or the roof top? Answer 1: If the power washer can be brought up the steps to the 18th floor without damaging the carpet, floor, walls or doors, they can bring it in. Q.2. Will the kitchen operations close down during cleaning? Answer 2: No, the kitchen closes at 3PM and all work has to be performed after 3pm. Q.3. Does the requirement include intermittent changing of the filters? Answer 3: No, just cleaning. Q.4. Standard kitchen duct layout requires a cleanout access point at every 12 feet and at every change in direction. Noted during the walkthrough is that some access panels were located above pipes, rendering them inaccessible from the ground level. Would you confirm or provide information on the accessibility of all horizontal cleanouts from the kitchen/ 5th floor area? Answer 4: Currently, partial accessibility (majority of access panels) is available and contractor should use current accessibility for clean outs. The Program Office (PSC) will work with the Building Lessor to establish full accessibility. Upon full accessibility, the contractor is expected to use all access panels to clean ductwork. Moreover, the contractor shall take extra precaution when performing clean-outs. If ceiling tiles or any other building structures are damaged, the contractor will pay for repair. The ceiling should be left in the same condition prior to the work. NOTE: Solicitation due date is extended to April 5, 2016 at 2:00PM. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
