Description
The William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, 2500 Overlook Terrace, Madison, WI is seeking potential sources capable of providing Icosapent Ethyl (IPE) (Vascepa ®) and an olive oil placebo capsule for a (5) year Research Study. The Research Department estimates the need for 167,400 capsules of both the drug and placebo over the 5 year period. We believe the applicable NAICS code is 325412 or 325411. We are currently unaware of anyone providing a placebo for Vascepa ®. We are open to exploring different options in getting this drug or a generic alternative and a placebo to be able to complete this study. Here are some questions: "Can Vascepa ® be manufactured without the name imprinted on the capsule? Can the manufacture provide the olive oil placebo in the same blank capsule? "Can a generic version be manufactured in a blank capsule? If so, what is the formula for the generic? Can the olive oil placebo be provided as well? "If all that is available commercially is imprinted Vascepa ® Capsules, is there anyone that can remove the imprint from the capsule and also then provide the olive oil placebo to match the Vascepa ® in every way? No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVOSB); firm's capability statement; and any other pertinent information that demonstrates the capability to meet the above requirement. All responses shall be submitted in writing no later than 5:00 PM local time, 11 April 2016, to the attention of: Teresa Beers-Wesolowski, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), 115 South 84th St, Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214.
