The Work Boat Medium will be built to commercial standards and practices using Government specified requirements focused on boat compatibility constraints. The acquisition approach will address Total Ownership Cost (TOC) emphasizing commonality with previously acquired Work Boats and standardization of equipment throughout the Class to reduce Life Cycle costs. The Work Boat Medium will be procured utilizing a competitive small business set aside in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Government intends to award to the responsible Offeror(s) whose proposal is determined to offer the best value to the Government, using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation process. The base year order is estimated to be seven (7) Work Boat Mediums with an option of three (3) more Work Boat Mediums in the base year and subsequent options exercised over four (4) years. The exercise of options will be based on the needs of the Government and funding availability. The Government is not obligated to exercise options. The Government intends to hold a pre-award teleconference within 14 days of RFP posting. See Section L for details.
