- Monumental Sign at Front Gate PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 Work Covered by Contract Documents Work Description: Perform all work in accordance with IBC 2012, contract drawings, specifications, reference documents and contract provisions. Provide all labor, material, equipment and supervision required to accomplish the following work: A. Pre-bid field verification of existing construction and conditions. B. All work to be coordinated with Facilities Management Division (FMD) to ensure no disruption of ongoing training activities. C. Please refer to Specification Section 01 14 00 entitled "Work Restrictions" for additional information regarding Contractor work hours and site access. D. See Drawings for additional details. E. All work not otherwise described in this statement of work is to be performed in accordance with contract specifications. 1.1.1 Work to be Performed: Architectural: 1. Install polished concrete sign base as shown on plans. 2. Install cast bronze logo on sign base and cast bronze lettering as shown on plans. Electrical: 1. Connect to existing power supply at pole shown on plans 2. Install photocell and transformer near connection to existing power supply 3. Run wire in rigid conduit to location of sign. 4. Install new light fixtures as shown and connect to new wires. Survey: 1. Locate FLETC property line to ensure sign located on FLETC property. 2. Ensure no existing utility lines will be damaged during the excavation of the sign base. 1.2 Coordination, Quality Control / Assurance A. Coordinate construction schedule and all construction operations with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). B. The Superintendent / QC shall be responsible for assuring that all work is performed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. C. All work shall be inspected by the Government and accepted before issuance of final payment. D. Contractor shall verify all measurements, locations and requirements of the job. E. If there is a conflict between the information contained in the Contract and this Statement of Work, the Contract shall take precedence. F. Coordinate suppliers of concrete with concrete polishing subcontractors to ensure mix design is as required to warrant a quality final product. G. Coordinate embed plate manufacture with sign fabricators to ensure products match up during installation. 1.3 Submittals A. Submittals shall be required for all material and equipment items, per Contract Section C and Attachment B Specification 01 33 00 entitled "Submittal Procedures". B. The Contractor shall provide submittals to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Submittals shall include, but not be limited to, material data sheets, shop drawings, manufacturer's installation details, and other documents as required for the following items: 1. Submit shop drawings to COR that depict the locations of proposed products to be installed. 2. Submit finish samples items that will be exposed to public view. Work shall not proceed without first received written Submittal approval from the COR. C. The Contractor shall provide a Project Schedule (Gantt Chart or other similar method) to the COR prior to the start of work. At a minimum, said schedule shall be compliant with Specification Section 01 14 00 entitled "Work Restrictions", and: 1. Identify scheduled activities; 2. Identify work times; 3. Ensure coordination with training activities; 4. Estimate duration of each schedule activity; 5. Identify required resources for each activity; 6. Show the sequence of each activity and dependence on other activities; 7. Determine project duration; and 8. Analyze scheduled activities to improve project duration. Work shall not proceed without first received written Project Schedule approval from the COR. PART 2 - PRODUCTS / MATERIALS 2.1 Products covered by contract documents A. All products and/or materials shall conform to the requirements and related specifications of this Statement of Work, and shall be first quality, complying with all standard and applicable building codes. B. All products and/or materials shall be protected at all times from damage while at the work site in accordance with the Section C specifications. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 Performance Period The Contractor shall have a maximum of 120 calendar days in which to complete this project, from the date of award. 3.2 Installation A. All products and/or materials shall be installed / constructed following the specifications and manufacturer's published instructions. B. Contractor shall field verify all dimensions and conditions prior to beginning work or ordering materials. Contractor shall review site conditions with Project Manager prior to ordering materials and starting work. C. Contractor shall properly locate all underground utilities in accordance with FLETC and State of Georgia requirements before starting work. D. No product and/or materials shall be installed without Contractor first receiving written approval from the COR regarding submittal items. E. No product and/or materials shall be backfilled without first being inspected by COR, and COR issuance of a notice to backfill. Any product and/or materials backfilled without first being inspected by COR shall be excavated at Contractor expense so as to allow for inspection as required by this section of the Statement of Work. F. All work shall be installed / constructed in accordance with specifications, manufacturer's published instructions, and industry standards. G. All work shall be performed utilizing the latest codes for the particular type of work to be accomplished.
