Description
SYNOPSIS ~ DWORSHAK ROADSIDE BRUSHING Part 1 - General Information General: This is a non-personal services contract to provide vegetation clearing and removal on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) lands surrounding Dworshak Dam and Reservoir. The Government will not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor, who in turn is responsible to the Government. Objectives: The purpose of this contract is to remove obstructions on, above and along sides of primary and secondary roads and ATV trails to facilitate safe motorized travel and restore and maintain safe sight distances. Upon completion of this work, all vehicle traffic on primary roads, including large recreational vehicles and loaded logging trucks, will be able to pass through the designated areas without any part of the vehicle, trailer, or load being hit or damaged by any tree or bush limbs. Work completed on secondary roads and ATV trails will allow for the passage of full size pickups and ATVs, respectively, without any part of the vehicles being hit or damaged by any tree or bush limbs. Place of Performance: General. Roads and trails designated for brushing are located within the Grandad Elk Mitigation Area along the upper Dworshak Reservoir. Primary roads in the Mitigation Area are open public gravel or native surfaced roads accessible to low-clearance vehicles. Secondary roads are native surface roads for administrative use only and accessible to high-clearance vehicles. ATV trails are old secondary roads with native surfaces and provide for ATV administrative use only. Refer to the map (Attachment 1) included with this solicitation for exact locations of all roads and trails designated for potential brushing and a map of those roads and trails designated for brushing in 2016. The specific locations for road and trail brushing in options years will be provided to the Contractor by April of each option year. Exhibits and maps will be provided with the formal solicitation, which will be posted soon.
