Description

This is a sources sought announcement only and is not a request for proposals or quotes. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought Notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. This notice is for the purpose of identifying potential sources and does not commit the Government to make an award and /or issue a solicitation. The Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) located in Birmingham, Alabama plans to engage in a contract with a (Contractor) who will provide Clinical Nutrition Services for inpatients and outpatient at the (BVAMC), 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, AL 35233. The anticipated contract will be for the period of August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017, with four (4), one (1) year option periods to be exercised at the Government's discretion. The following Clinical Nutrition services will be provided by physicians, nutrition specialist provided by the contractor: A.Consultation on all patients at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) who are receiving parenteral nutrition. B.Consultation on additional patients upon request from the patient's primary physician. C.Physician nutrition specialists will be available to provide these services 24 hours per day, including holidays, as needed. D.Appropriate supervision and teaching shall be provided by the physician nutrition specialist for all residents providing nutrition support services. E.Clinical Nutrition Services provided by the contractor shall meet or exceed all current applicable standards of the Joint Commission. A DRAFT Statement of Work is provided to assist the Department of Veterans Affairs in conducting market research of industry to identify potential contractors to provide the services identified. The applicable NAICS code is 622310 - Specialty (Except Psychiatric and Substance Abuse) Hospitals, with a small business size standard of $38.5M. Firms/Companies with interest and capability responding to these requirements should develop a short narrative including relevant documentation, specific evidence and any other information indicating the capability to successfully fulfill the aforementioned requirements. Company information must include business type e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Woman Owned Small Business, etc. Information shall be provided no later than 5:00 PM EST, April 7, 2016.
