Description
The 2016 Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) Center of Excellence Advance Planning Briefings for Industry (APBI) will be held in May to provide information on requirements in support of US Army Sustainment Command; US Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC); US Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI); Joint Manufacturing & Technology Center (JMTC); the Garrison, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District (COE). In addition, representatives from US Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS); US Army Human Resources Command (HRC), and the US Army Chief Information Officer/G-6 (CIO/G-6) will also present information on requirements supported by ACC-RI. The APBI will be presented at the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Midwest Small Business Government Contracting Symposium. The Symposium is scheduled for May 25-26 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The APBI is an annual broad-based business briefing conducted to provide industry with a comprehensive overview of projected Army requirements and corresponding contracting opportunities, extending from the current year through three to five years, with the addition of special topics of current interest. The event also provides a unique forum in which senior military and civilian leaders and key action officers within the requirements development community have an opportunity to present overviews and updates regarding their future acquisitions. Last year's APBI drew more than 600 attendees including both small and large business, elected officials and representatives from various Government agencies. Planned APBI events include: - Presentation by Ms. Lisha Adams, Executive Deputy to the Commanding General, US Army Materiel Command; - Mission Panel - Mr. Michael R. Hutchison, ASC, Moderator. Participants: MG Kevin O'Connell, ASC; BG Stephen Farmen, JMC; Mrs. Melanie Johnson, ACC-RI; COL Donald Wols, JMTC; COL Craig Baumgartner, COE; COL Elmer Speights, Jr., Garrison; - Overview and Requirements for the ASC Acquisition Integration & Management Center with Mr. Jay Carr; and ASC Operations Update with Mr. Carl Cartwright; - Industrial Base Discussion with Mr. Scott Welker, Deputy to the Commander, JMC; COL Sean Herron, Commander McAlester Army Ammunition Plant; and Mr. Joseph Kennedy, Commander's Representative Holston Army Ammunition Plant; - ACC-RI Requirements with Ms. Melanie Johnson and representatives from PEO EIS, HRC and CIO/G-6; - Industry Panel with Ms. Amy Roddey, President and Chief Executive Officer, Technica LLC; Mr. Tony Keyes, Senior Vice President Business Development, NCI Information Systems Incorporated; Mr. Kent Holiday, Vice President and General Manager for Orbital ATK Small Caliber Systems; and - Senior Leaders Panel Those planning to attend the APBI must register to attend the NDIA Midwest Small Business Government Contracting Symposium.
