Description
The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC) Joint Armaments Center (JA), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the METC Division at US Army Armaments, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is conducting market research to find vendors capable of providing a commercial finite element software tool with multiscale analysis capability, capable of integrating an arbitrary hierarchy of scales in a single calculation. The software should efficiently model advanced ballistic impacts without using a very highly refined mesh and be able to operate on Microsoft Windows 7 and 8 operating systems. The finite element software tool should be capable of the following: - Providing Finite Element Analysis to the microstructural level. - Automatically generate microstructures - textiles, continuous and chopped fiber, particulate, and voids. - Automatically crack 2D and 3D algorithms. - Quick and accurate prediction of material behavior and failure. - Allow users to simulate both part-level and microstructural level simultaneously with two-way coupling. - Integration with major CAE platforms: Abaqus, Ansys and Altair's Hyperworks (LS-Dyna plugin under development) Interested sources are encouraged to submit information on their capabilities no later than March 28, 2016 by 4:30pm Eastern Standard time. Submittals and questions should be directed to the following point of contact: US Army Contracting Command, Attn. William Tenz, ACC-NJ-JA, Bldg. 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, email: william.d.tenz.civ@mail.mil. Respondents shall provide name and address of firm, point of contact information, Cage Code, NAICS they are registered under, and business size status (small, large, etc.) with their submission. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government and will be held in confidential status. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of the survey. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), solicitation, or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government.
