Description
Perform cut/fill operations of the existing contaminated soil to level the site and match the grading profile provided in the attached Turf Field design drawings. A specific final elevation is not required as the Turf Field design shall be modified (by others) based on final site elevations after capping of the site. The final elevation of the containment cap is anticipated to be considered the compacted subgrade elevation under the turf field and track. Excavate and backfill with clean soil all noted components shown on the Turf Field drawings which extend below the subgrade elevation. Excavation shall extend a minimum of 12 beyond the dimensions of the excavation necessary to construct said items according to the Field Turf design drawings unless noted otherwise. Components including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: Bollards for Perimeter Rail “ Place grade stake in center of each location after backfill. Location is 3.5 ™ outside exterior track curb per Turf Field drawings. Irrigation Piping Trench and components Exfiltration Perimeter Piping “ 4 ™ wide minimum. 3 ™ deep minimum. Exfiltration Basin, Controlled Outflow Structure, and Outflow Piping Radius Monuments “Place grade stake in center of each location at completion of project. Track Curbing/Track Lanes “ Transition from the 3 ™ deep exfiltration trench to 18 deep extending under the track footprint out to a minimum of 2 ™ beyond edge of outside track curbing. Utilize excavated materials as part of the cut/fill operations. Contaminated soil shall be spread on site and no disposal is anticipated. Compact newly leveled site and excavations to 90% maximum density in accordance with ASTM D698 Standard Proctor. Install a visible warning barrier such as orange snow fencing across all disturbed areas prior to placement of soil cap. Barrier shall provide visual delineation between in-situ contaminated material and clean soil cap and shall not impede drainage. Backfill excavated areas with clean soil, and place 12 inch minimum soil cap across entire site. Final grading profile shall match grading profile in the attached Turf Field design drawings. A specific elevation is not required. Fill material shall be placed in maximum 6 lifts and compacted to 95% maximum density. Seeding of final site is not required.
