- Description
- Sliding Door Pictures The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking contractors capable of 1)removing and disposing of two (qty 2) high-speed roll up doors and 2)furnishing and installing two (qty 2) new bi-parting sliding doors with a manual pull cord. 1.4 Sliding Door Salient Characterisics: the doors separating the loading dock and the building must have integral magnetic locks that can be controlled remotely via the US Capitol Police (USCP) security system. The doors must be able to be locked down by USCP remotely. The locks must be able to tie into the fire alarm system so that when they are engaged by the security system they can be released in a fire emergency. 1.4.1. Delayed Egress / Panic Hardware. When the magnetic lock is engaged, the door is locked shut. When the locked door is pushed for 3 seconds, it initiates a 30 second count down that will release the magnet. When the hardware is pushed an alarm sounds and USCP is notified someone is trying to open a door that is locked. The doors need to be remote locking capability for the USCP, but the doors must also have delayed egress capability. USCP can initiate the magnetic lock to lock the doors so that they cannot be pushed open and the integral delayed egress meets the life safety requirement. 1.4.2. Manual Activation. Due to the moderate level of pedestrian cross-traffic in the area, the AOC requires the doors be opened manually. The Contractor shall install a pull cord on both sides of the doorway to activate the motion sensor. The motion sensor will ensure the doorway is unobstructed before returning to the closed position. 1.4.3. Dimensions. The width of the breezeway is 92in. The doors must fully clear / NOT obstruct the opening. Pictures are provided with this RFQ for reference.
