Description
The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC) Joint Armaments Center (JA), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Propulsion Technology & Prototyping Division at US Army Armaments, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is conducting market research to identify potential companies with experience in the production of celluloid, or similar polymer materials, and an interest in producing celluloid sheet stock. Specific experience includes technical expertise in celluloid or similar polymer material processing, manufacturing equipment, and facilities. The primary objective of this survey is to identify qualified companies within the national technology industrial base (U.S. and Canada) with a background and interest in manufacturing celluloid material. Celluloid sheets, from the blocking method, are being considered for use in various munitions with a potential yearly Department of Defense production requirement of 10-40 tons. All responding companies shall provide a summary of their company's qualifications including: company name, address, point of contact (POC), small business qualification, related manufacturing experience (past and / or present), and celluloid-specific manufacturing capabilities including descriptions of available equipment. If a company is considering an alternate celluloid manufacturing process to the traditional blocking method, the company shall provide a detailed background as to the potential benefits of the new process along with related processing experience. The information must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to: Interested sources are encouraged to submit information on their capabilities no later than April 11, 2016. Submittals shall include company name, address, Cage Code or DUNS, point of contact information, and size status (small, large, etc.) of business concern. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government and will be held in confidential status. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of the survey. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), solicitation, or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government.
