- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks information on commercial vendors that are capable of providing maintenance and repair services to Coherent instruments and their associated components. NIST requires preventive maintenance, system enhancements, telephone support, annual maintenance and emergency repairs to its Coherent instruments. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then any competitive procurement that resulted will be conducted as a small business set-aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, foreign, and small businesses. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 811219, as those domestic sources having annual receipts not in excess of $20,500,000.00. Please include your company's size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. Companies that are capable of providing maintenance and repair services to Coherent instruments and their associated components are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to cory.worley@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The report should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to your capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Interested vendors shall also provide evidence that they are certified and authorized to work on Coherent instruments. Interested vendors shall provide 1) Name of company that certified and authorized to service Coherent instruments; 2) Company address; 3) Point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 2. Interested vendors shall provide their capabilities of providing preventive maintenance, system enhancements, telephone support and emergency maintenance for the instruments listed above. a. Preventive Maintenance consist of, but is not limited to, two (2) preventive maintenance visits during each year in accordance with the manufacturer's operations and maintenance manual for each instrument. b. System Enhancements consist of, but are not limited to, commercial software updates for the purposes of instrument optimization not later than sixty (60) days after any such update is released. Testing of the equipment after system enhancements are installed. c. Telephone Support consist of, but is not limited to, providing telephone support of the covered instruments during regular business hours. Telephone support must include responses to questions about operation practices, application use, and service issues that can be diagnosed and resolved over the telephone. d. Emergency maintenance consist of, but is not limited to, request for service calls in the event of instrument failure which requires repair. Respond to service calls Monday through Friday and provide a service technician/engineer on-site within 48 hours after the service call is placed. 3. Interested vendors shall address their capability of providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. 4. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
